Dyke asked: My brother-in-law’s cousin likes me, or so I’ve heard. Should I encourage him to make a move? I’ve been frazzled about this all day. What’s your opinion?

Hollie asked: Me and my ex got divorced in February. He already tried to modify the final decree…child support, visitation, and transportation. The judge heard his plead and denied anything be changed because he had not had a substantial change since the decree was signed. He is now appealing that judges deicison, and I was going to see if anyone knew how the appeal process worked..or whats going to happen now. Thanks!

lucky_one12321 asked: I have been researching various law schools, but I haven’t found any rankings when it comes to the concentration of family law. Which law school in the U.S. has the best family law courses?

Composermon asked: Unfortunately, I was asking about Los Angeles, not Louisiana. Still, some family law knowledge crosses state lines. Do you know how hard it is to get rid of Minor’s Counsel on appeal or get the court to start obeying (California) law by striking down an order changing custody at an ex-parte hearing when there’s no threat of abuse or abduction?

A asked: I recently became unemployed and need to apply for an adjustment for child support. I live in San Diego (El Cajon) and the court website says these are either done through the family court facilitator (and a family court judge) or the Department of Child support services but it doesn’t really indicate what circumstances determine where you go.
We very recently went to court for an adjustment in our custody aggreenment.
Should I be going to the Department of Child Support Services or should I be going to the family law facilitator? What are the circumstances that determine which you go to?

Mallorie asked: I havent had my baby yet, but they are very heavy smokers. The family-in-law (Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law) even smoked while pregnant, so you can imagine they probably don’t think much of smoking around babies. They smoke around a 11 month old and a year old baby constantly. They hold them on thier laps and puff away. I do not want this. I hate smoking it smells and its very bad for my baby. Help please.
