joe asked: I am needing a free or low cost family law attorney in the Houston area. I have physical custody of my sisters son (7) & we are suing her ex (his dad) for child support. He is hiding from being served & refuses to pay or even come to court. Whenever we have spoken to him he always threatens us with getting visitation. We are VERY fearful that he will get visits & he has MULTIPLE felonies & has been in prison twice. I need help because we need him to help financially support his son? I know what you’re thinking, he has a right to see his son, but he is dangerous & its not in his sons best interest?

I am who I am… deal with it! asked: I moved to a different county than the original county I had to file for “Family Law Issues”. If I need to file a motion against my sons father, can I file in the county I am in now or do I always need to file in the original county?
I moved to a county that is 1 1/2 hours from the original county…. long drive with traffic in this area!

If the defendant is not read Miranda rights after arrest (or at all) will the case still make it to trial ? Or is this automatically a mistrial?
Are the victims usually called to testify against the defendant even if they don’t want to press charges?
Twiztid- the defendent was placed under arrest and he was then questioned. Does this make any difference? Thanks for the quick answer.
