Are you a Family Law Attorney or do you know if I can?
buddy1 asked:
I live in CA and I’m filing for divorce, I’m also doing it myself by filling all the forms. So my question is If I file form FL-820 “Request for Judgement, Judgement of Dissolusion of Marriage and Notice of Entry of Judgement” which is the request for immediate judgement of dissolusion, will the judge grant the divorce to be effective when I file this form to the court or do I have to wait until it’s final. Help!!!

It is not final until signed by the judge. Whether it is signed depends on whether you have done everything right, with all the signatures and notary stamps for you and spouse, and a final disposition of all property and rights. Most people screw up thinking that they have no community property but they forget that the right to collect a pension decades from now is property that has to be allocated.
