Are you a Family Law Attorney or have you filed for divorce?
buddy1 asked:
I’m filing for divorce in CA and I’m doing it myself for financial reason. My question is about the final form (FL-130) which has a box I need to check that says:
“The parties waive their right to notice of trial,a statement of decision, a motion for new trial and the right to appeal.”
Can you simplify this statement. By the way, the form is the Appearences, Stipulations and Waivers. Thank you

I believe that means that the two of you have reached an agreement which would be the final agreement and that by signing it, you both are agreeing that there does not need to be a trial and that you cannot appeal the agreement you are making now. In other words, if you sign that form and file it, it’s over and everything will be done as it is spelled out in the forms.
