Unless your are super rich supporting a family and going to law school would be one of the hardest things you ever did especially if you decide to have children.

it depends. law can be a well paid field but there are many attorneys who can't get work at all. lots of people have done law school (at night) while they had a family but your spouse has to kind of take the load (take care of the kids & most everything). there are many law school at night programs, it just takes longer.

1.Don't ever go into law to become rich... we are subject to the same fluctuations of the economy like everyone else. (bad times= clients don't pay)

2. I would not advise starting a family while in law school... although if you are the daddy to be instead of the mommy, be much easier. The least distractions and responsibilities the better (good ground rule). I saw a couple of women who had a couple of babies while in law school. One passed the Bar right away.. the others still (years later) are not licensed.
