We had law of the couch, if you got up and forgot to hit your fist on the seat and say “save”. you could lose your seat. The only exception was if our parents asked us to do something.
We also had to sit in the same place for dinner every night. The only time we got to repick our seat is when we moved to a new house. (there were 5 kids and this helped)
