MARGARET B asked:
I’ve been paying child support on my son since 2004. I have never claimed that I pay that support on my taxes. I do not have his social security number or his birth certificate. Is there a way I can do this without his information? I do not have contact with him or his father.

I’m not sure what a 1099 form is or if and when I will have to file it for my (physical personal injury) settlement. Any info or input would be greatly appreciated.

I’m suing my landlord/his insurance company, because a few years ago I fell down a common stairwell after the landlord had removed the carpeting, but not the nails. I have a good personal injury attorney, but she’s not sure about tax questions.

Joe asked:
I don’t owe alot of back child support. But with the state of Texas, if you owe more than $500 the government gives your tax return to the child support division. So will I get my stimulus check or will that go towards my back child support?

Jennifer S asked:
For back child support that is owed to me and my children, the state of Missouri is holding onto my exs’ tax return and they did this last year also because from what they say my ex and his wife filed jointly, so they have to hold on to it for 6 months. They wouldn’t give me anymore information. Why do you think this is? Interest maybe?
