family law
Monica♥ asked:

i have recently began thinking of family law, there is no rush for me to have a definant job in my mind and its like 4 years before i finish high school, but i want to have an idea of what i want to do when i am older. I was thinking law as its helping people and has a good income.

how much does a family lawyer earn? i want to do family law basically consisting around children and the responsibility of a parent after divorce. when you become a family lawyer do you have to do all topics in Family law (e.g. divorce, marriage, civil unions?)

thanks a heap :)

A lawyer can practice any type of law she sees fit. She can take whatever clients she wants.

However, I don’t think it’s very realistic to practice only custody issues, but I may be wrong. Usually, custody issues are handled by the attorneys handling the divorce.

Have you considered becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist? You will be able to help people. It requires about 2 years beyond a bachelor’s degree (the same as law). B. Garni
