You are unlikely to find a lawyer in Dallas who specializes in emigration to Canada. Most of the immigration law practice revolves around people who want to move to or stay in the United States.
Your issues center on Canadian law, so you need to find a Canadian lawyer. You might want to ask your question again in the Canada section of Yahoo answers. Just as is the case in the United States, Yahoo has separate areas for the major cities in Canada, so you could try your question in Vancouver, or Toronto, or wherever you are thinking of moving to.
