You have to understand that judges dont arbitrarily hand out decisions, there are laws that must be followed in every state and judges have to follow them, just because you have issues with the father, does not in any way shape or form mean that the child should not have and equal right of access to his other parent. Children NEED their mother and their father whether or not the two of you get along. Several points, DO NOT ever talk about your childs father in the presence or ear shot of the child, legally this is called Child Abuse, you cannot force the child to conform to your opinion of the absent parent, DO NOT ever keep a child away from their parent, show to your child that you love him/her and that you want him to have a relationship with his father, show yourself to be a better person by not punishing the absent parent and the child. SUCK IT UP

Although this sounds really bad, most states honor the rights of parents to see and visit with their children unless they are a threat to the child. The fact that he does not pay child support doesn’t matter. He can be held in contempt of court for refusing to pay court-ordered child support, but that has nothing to do with his visitation rights with his child. The courts have always been loathe to interfere with parental rights (they are considered one of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution), absent some sort of maltreatment or violence. Unfortunately for you the fact that the father has not been part of the child’s life in a significant way does not matter, unless his lack of attention someone harms the child. From what you’ve written, the fact that 2 masters a and ajudge have awarded some form of visitation indicates that this was not the case.

No, your not the only one that feels that way. My girlfriend is from Maryland. She has been going through custody issues with her soon to be ex, and it has been a nightmare. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with his two kids while they were living under the same roof. Then when she left, he tried to be father of the year. He injured his son recently and charges were filed against him. He is calling his son a liar and denying what happened. It isnt the fault of the court system, its the idiotic judges who make the rulings. Remember Judge Palumbo who was recently removed from the bench in Prince Georges county over the woman whose ex-husband set her on fire? He is a prime example of an idiotic, biased judge.

The thought is, generally, that it’s beneficial for a child to have a relationship with a parent. As you have, in a very frustrating sense figured out, that tends to make them go a long way until it’s proven that it’s really not in the child’s best interest.
