Hi,
Firstly you’d have to get A-levels, or the equivalent because you’d need to get into university. Solicitors must hold a qualifying law degree, or a degree in any subject plus a Graduate Diploma in law (GDL) or Common Professional Examination (CPE), or a Senior Status law degree or be a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
Training as a solicitor involves taking the Legal Practice Course (LPC) followed by a training contract with a practising solicitor.

Hello Annie,
If you are in the right age bracket (13 - 19), you are probably as well going to speak with Connexions (link below) about careers in family law. Initially, do not get hung up on labels such as “solicitor”, but get some information about all the different types of career that can be pursued in that field.
I must warn you that the legal profession is crowded at the moment, but this is one area that has a heavy turnover, so vacancies may occur. The reason for the turnover is that the work can be rewarding, but the hours are long and it can be emotionally draining.
