I need a resource for NY and OH law on child custody and visitation?

I moved to NY w/bf , had a child, and things didn’t work out. I moved back to OH with our child. Did i break the law?? Now he wants custody. How do i find out what to do. I told him he can see his child as often as he wants, but thinks i lie. Where do i turn for help.
