Is there a law that prohibits a woman from telling her childs paternal family that she exists?
Alison asked:
Long story short…
My sister had a child MANY years ago (still a minor child) but the childs father refused to tell them that the child even exists (even after DNA confirmation) so we located a family member and told…IT hit the fan.

He threatened her and now she’s afraid there might be a law that protects his ‘right’ to not tell…
I doubt there is such a law because I think the child has the right to know it’s family and vice versa!

there is no such law.
You can tell them anything you want about anything.
He is just mad because the truth be told.
She should tell him SHAME ON YOU for not telling your parents about their grand child.

Your child has the right to know their family an d no it is not illegal to tell them, it is called freedom of speech and you are not slandering him because it is the truth and you have test results to prove it, I suggest you seek child support from him, if you havent already done so, he is 100% liable to your child for support payments even if he has no contact with the child he still has to support them, it is the law. As far as the threats go I would take that issue up with the court, and continue to tell who ever you want about your childs exsistence, you have that right, and don’t let anyone intimidate you, he made his bed and now he can lay in it, in a matter of speaking, good luck to both you and your child, and best wishes…
