If he’s been in prison for that long, he either committed murder, rape, etc.
There will be no legal trouble, at least while he’s in prison, but you are begging for a LOT of other trouble.

no. what would it be. women marry convicts…i mean people doing hard time in state and federal facilities all the time.
the only time it might be a problem is if you were marrying an offender to conceal evidence…spousal privilege, but after 16 yrs,, come on. variable

If he’s still in jail—run! He’ll tell you everything you want to hear. He can’t cheat on you, steal from you, because he’s locked up.
Think about it. What kind of life do you want to have. I believe in giving people chances but he hasn’t had any. He is taking what he can get now, and you are it. He needs to find his path in life and eventually, if he is straight, then go for it. Right now, you have a robot who will say and do what ever it is you want. Windy

Nope people marry other people in prison all the time, you may just not want to tell your friends because they will think you are weird. dolphinsfan913

I think she said “Is there any disadvantages to marrying a felon?” His crime was 16 years ago.
To which I would say unless there are other circumstances involved like your immigration status or unless you have a high security job there should be no problem Mike R
