Isn’t it against the law if a medical lab refuse to give information to a family doctor, hospital doctors?

Mary asked:

I know a person who has a bad infection and was in the hospital. The hospital doctors took cultures all staff and strep was ruled out. They took more cultures and sent it to Oahu’s labs. The lab is not letting the information out . The patient’s family doctor call the lab and also faxed them for the information on what he has. The doctor can’t get it. Also the hospital doctors that treated the patient at the hospital can’t get the information on what he has. The lab or the state will not let the information out.

That pretty much means that you should get the heck away from him, because he has something so bad that the lab is making double and triple sure they know what it is before they tell anyone.
