I agree with both of the previous answers, but I thought I would add that it might be beneficial for you to wait if your ex still has other obligations to you. If you will be paying support or has to transfer property or will owe you more money, hold off for a few months. Also, did the Order give him a time limit to pay? Even if he was to pay it immediately, don't take it back to the judge without giving you ex's attorney an opportunity to try to fix this. The Court will not be pleased if you rush back to court without giving him a demand to pay. Also, unpaid court orders do draw interest. You would be entitled to costs, so yes, the effort to collect is worth it. Make a demand in writing and wait about 30 days or until you get an answer, whichever is first, then go back to the judge.

Submit an ex party wage assignment to the court for the money he owes you and serve it on his employer. Or file an order to show re: contempt...... a deal's a deal!

well court is just that, a huge waste of money. best to take the $250 and buy yourself something nice instead. moving on with your life is better mentally and finically. although lawyers will not tell you that.

but settling for less then what you got can be better because actuality of payment is more probable. while if it was a large amount he may have never paid and you would have to spend huge fees in perusing him.

think about it this way what would you rather spend your money on, you or hurting him...
