Family law is not just divorce law.

Your first paragraph should be about you...My name is ________, I recently finished my undergraduate work at ________, and have developed an interest in family law. In papers and on TV it is easy to see how families get ripped apart and injustices are done. I would like to study family law, in all its aspects to try to help correct some of these injustices, etc....

Don't talk about how your family is still intact but seen its fair share....everyone's family has seen it's fair share.

Talk about how you think the best interests of the children are paramount, how divorce law is outdated and based on 18th century views of family, civil unions and same-sex marriage (obviously depending how feel about it, and what school you are applying to), etc....

don't talk too much about your personal life.. you want to express more interest in the course !
you also need to express about the diversity of family law... so don't just mention divorce - there are other areas- saw in particular what area of family law interests you ... in addition perhaps mention another area of law you quite like
also another tip is to say in your P.S about what you want to do in the future- through the course.
Also what got you interested in the subject.
Also say how your subjects you have chosen for a-levels/ btecs etc have contributed to your understanding of the british law.
