I am needing a free or low cost family law attorney in the Houston area. I have physical custody of my sisters son (7) & we are suing her ex (his dad) for child support. He is hiding from being served & refuses to pay or even come to court. Whenever we have spoken to him he always threatens us with getting visitation. We are VERY fearful that he will get visits & he has MULTIPLE felonies & has been in prison twice. I need help because we need him to help financially support his son? I know what you’re thinking, he has a right to see his son, but he is dangerous & its not in his sons best interest?

How can Maryland Family Law allow a child to be with a parent he doesn’t know?

How can I go in front of 2 masters and 1 judge with proven evidence that the biological father, who hasn’t been around for 7 years, only recently popped into the picture and breaks promise after promise, does not follow court orders, and has lied so many times that I was able to catch him in them - all of this written proof by me, family, and other court advocates, and yet the court is allowing this child to travel 5 states away to be with him because “now” he is showing an interest! Is Maryland the only messed up state that does not look at proven evidence and child’s best interest?
Never asked for child support AND he doesn’t pay anything. The few checks he does pass on to me, usually bounce!
