Mark asked:
With an impending divorce, the wife wants to take the husband’s name off the two properties they both own, so that he cannot claim it as an asset. (Understanding that liability for the loan is a different issue.) What happens if he does sign it? Will it hold in a court of law? The wife doesn’t want the husband’s future wife or stepchildren to have any part of the proceeds.

I need to file an Ex-parte matter in another county in California and am told that they may have to have the file in possesion to accept a Exparte order for custody. Is there a law that allows the case to start while the file is in transfer?

Restraining orders last for five years and are given out like Candy. Families are broken apart. Is California the very worst state?

I had a trial in August 2005. Although I was the respondent, the trial was initiated by myself on my behalf. I was seeking reimbursement for a significant amount of overpaid child support. I’ve called the court clerk and was told the judge is still working on it. I feel the judge is refusing to rule because she does not want to rule on my behalf (she seemed sympathetic towards the other side). Is the judge breaking the law byr dragging her feet? Do I have any other options available?
