I’d like to find a good, reputable family law attorney (with integrity - no, I’m not kidding) in the vicinity of Amarillo or Wichita Falls, Texas, or anywhere in between. Specifically, I have questions about child support and modification of an existing decree.

Berns asked:
My boyfriend is paying child support of more than $1000 for 1 child. I don’t think its fair, he can’t even see his child. What can we do to have the child support lowered or at least have visitation rights?

I have joint legal custody. We’ve been divorced for almost three years. We are both remarried. She has been physically and mentally abusive to me in the past. She wants more money in child support and is currently taking me through the Friend of the court system in Detroit. I really need a good attorney.

Two peas in a pod asked: This isn’t a real life situation so don’t read to much into it.
But lets say that a man with a child whom he is currently paying cs for and is having money taken out of his paychecks quits his job. He quits his job because he married a super rich woman who supports him. Legally the court can’t take money from her to support the child but how do they calculate how much he has to pay?

Ashley L asked:
My children’s father owes a lot of money in back child support. Now he has turned the tables on me and has filed for custody of my children. I don’t really know what to do from here, I just got the summons from the sheriff and I definitely don’t know what to bring with me to court. The kids have always lived with me and recently he has started getting them on the weekends… Help…

sillydilly66 asked:
There is no court order yet. The procedures are just beginning. If the child spends equal time with both parents, me being the mom and I make more money, who would pay child support? And what is a custodial and non-custodial parent?
