My dad is a doctor, but I remember when I was a kid- on all the official papers he put a friend of his who was also a doctor as my official physician and would have his friend sign everything even though it was my dad who did all the treatments and shots and things. Did he do this because he wasn’t legally allowed to be my doctor? What about other family members? I know of a plastic surgeon who did all the plastic surgery for his wife.

I need help. My ex-husband is planning to visit although he hasn’t seen our 2 kids in two years (3 visits in 6 years) and doesn’t keep regular contact with them. How can I prevent him from seeing them until custody is finalized? We are pending court right now-he left long ago and now, because I got re-married, has cut child support so I had to file. Now, he wants to play father of the year and hasn’t even talked to the kids in months! The kids are 7 & 8, they were 1 &2 when he “dropped us off”. If you can answer this, thanks. My ex will be here tomorrow! His lawyer just told me via e-mail like 30 minutes ago. He has two kids by two other women (ages 6 and 2) and has been remarried for two years himself. I just got married 6 mos. ago.
No, he didn’t get a wake-up call. I actually have an e-mail from him where he “hopes my new husband has deep pockets b/c his are done.” Not to mention that I filed in January and he has called only 3 times since and he has NEVER seen his 6 year old…
The kids do not know him-he blows in for a week at a time every two years and spends limited time with them, then disappears for another two years and they wonder why for a little while and then forget about him because he won’t contact them. My husband has been with us for three of the six years and he is the only dad they know.

I have sole custody of my two children. My ex husbands visitation rights were suspended untill he attended drug treatment. I was remarried and was planning to move across country (from California) He was notified I was moving and made no legal effort to stop me. Shortly before I moved he was arrested and later convicted of attempted murder of his girlfriend. He was sentenced to 5 years. I have 2 problems #1 I live in Georgia and due to a conflict between GA and CA laws. GA says I have to file in CA (where he lives)and CA says I have to file in GA(where the violence is most likely to happen) so my restraining order is no longer in effect. And he is due to get out of prison any day.

#2 I have not and have no intention of telling him or any member of his family my location. And believe me his Dad has tried. They think I am in Atlanta which I am not. The DA child support has my address with all the do not release paper work. Can he claim I am denying him rights?
The case has me as a victim of DV so I have all the rights associated with that. But I am not sure about the address, as to who I have to notify and how to ensure it is not realeased. YES, I am hideing and I am willing to leave the country need be to protect my children from this man. He is very dangerous. But I want to stay within the law as much as I can. We have a great life now and I don’t want it to go back to the hell it was when I was married to him or when he was stalking me. He even moved 1001 feet from my home in CA and drove by my house daily after the restraining orders were put in place. The police said they could not do anything because it was “1001″ and not 1000(like they really measured.)

he has been to a solicitor and his name is on the birth cert etc, she did this with her two girls and their dad you see and he doesnt see them atall anymore,

he has never been violent towards her and he left her in the house etc being perfectly responsable and reasonable!! its hard do grandparents have rights too???

I have a court order in California and it gave me custody and child support orders. I then got back together with the dad in another state. Did I void those orders? And now I am not with the dad anymore, but Im now in a totally different state than the first two. So does anyone know if my California orders from the beginning are still good?

I’m asking the CA court for permission to move out of state for financial reasons. I have joint custody: our daughter lives with me and sees dad every other weekend.

My ex’s attorney has filed a request for a court appointed Forensic Psychologist. What will this mean? What will the forensic psychologist do?

And what does it mean to open up a “Discovery” in Family Law?
