I would like to move out of home from verbally abusive and alcoholic spouse. However, I have 3 kids and I want to get physical custody of them. Has anyone from PA left and did it hurt your chances of getting custody? I was told by a pa lawyer in a free consult not to leave the marital home because it can be abandonment. I think I would rather seperate initially though than divorce.

My girlfriend was divorced not too long ago. She got a bad deal. Lost the house, kids, etc. She had representation through legal aid. Since the divorce is over, she doesn’t have someone she ask for advice or help with enforcing things like payments and such. She also would like to try to get custody of two of her children in the near future. I want to help her as much as I can financially but can’t afford a high priced lawyer as well. We’ve tried some web sites that recommend some lawyers but have not found any that are low priced or take on cases pro bono. I know it’s out there but don’t know where to look. If you know of someone that knows someone who can help, we’d appreciate it. Thank you.

Jylsamynne asked: Desperately in need of one in St. Lucie County but there is no Legal Aid available here for Family Law and I cannot afford an attorney for my divorce. Is there anyone you can direct me to who can help please?!
Hi once again, it’s not forms I need, it’s an ATTORNEY who will work a family law case pro bono. I have been looking for one for two years. I have gone as far as I can on my own and I need representation. I am looking everywhere. This area however has a severe LACK of family law attorneys, much less any that will even talk to someone who doesn’t have at least $4,000 to pull out of their arse.
I’m a real person with a real need here.
Question has been extended in the hopes of more relevant answers.

I am wondering if lawyers fees are tax deductible for child custody cases. The divorce was in 1998 but we have had to go back for other reasons for schooling & etc. Are those fees paid deductible? Thanks for any help.

A friend’s home is in jeopardy of foreclosure and he is trying to divorce his wife who lives in the home. Their daughter wants to purchase the home through short sale but Bank of America told her it cant be short sale to a family member. Is that just a company policy or a law and is there a way around it?
