Unfortunately, I was asking about Los Angeles, not Louisiana. Still, some family law knowledge crosses state lines. Do you know how hard it is to get rid of Minor’s Counsel on appeal or get the court to start obeying (California) law by striking down an order changing custody at an ex-parte hearing when there’s no threat of abuse or abduction?

International family law (custody) - need attorney recommendation?

I would like consultation regarding obtaining joint custody of my daughter.

The mother and my daughter are both Canadian citizens (they reside in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta) and I am an US citizen (I reside in FL). The mother and I are unmarried.

Any suggested attorney(s) would be much appreciated. I am an attorney as well but this is definitely not my practice area.

Thanks.

Is Fathers Choice the cheapest way to win a family law custody case?

Fathers Choice charges $845 to put together all of the documents and coach you for a court date. I’m thinking of going with them but was trying to find out anyone has found a cheaper route to getting a custody case.
