Technically, you're not related at all. A "blood" relation is just that....actual, genetically connected. A step-parent wouldn't even be a "blood" relative. You are related you your brother's wife (your sister-in-law) by marriage. As far as her family goes, there is absolutely no relation.

That being said, I agree with the person who says you can call them your "extended family" if you are this close to them. "Extended family" usually refers to the close friends that are viewed as family. (ie, your mother's best friend that you've always called "aunt" even though there's no relation.)

I say, count your blessings to have these people in your life and don't stress over the title.

technically, they are not related to you. you can count them as "extended family", related by marriage, but your sister-in-law's morhter isn't your mother-in-law-in-law or anything.

honestly though, they have no real title because that relation is too far apart to be counted as my marriage or by blood for practical use. she's your sister-in-law's aunt.

Technically, you're not related at all to any of them except your brothers wife (She's your sister-in-law). Go ahead and call them family if you like though, I do.

You are not biologically related to them. They are the gift you got when you married your husband. They can be a nice addition or excess baggage if your relationship with them is poor. That works both ways, remember.

In our extended family, it was a practice to call our in-laws aunt or uncle. That really made them a real part of our family. Some of them were even nicer than my blood relatives. Our in-laws were always considered part of our family.

In some cases, there is a gult between in-laws and the biological relatives. An extended family is capable of extending only so far.

They're your friends, your brother's in-laws. Your brother is related to them by marriage, but you're not related to your sister-in-law's family at all--no matter how badly you want to be.

You're related through marriage. Not by blood. They're your brothers in laws. But there's no harm in being close to them.

They are your 'extended family'.

Best term I can think of. You're lucky to be so close to your in-laws.
