Over the years, I’ve learned to put up with just about anything from family & in-laws. But to answer your question:
No, nothing was said to upset me that I can recall. I haven’t really had any holiday drama in years. My ex used to create all kinds of drama, especially when we were still married. (She was the original Drama Queen.) WillyC

nothing they said, it just wasn’t feeling good this year, maybe because more of the family wasn’t here, they rushed thru dinner it seemed and I felt like it would have been more fun to stay at home…usually with family and many people I do try to stay on “safe” subjects, but with some people you never know what will be thier response or lead to a bad atmosphere…

Maybe some people are just not positive or friendly and don’t understand what they are saying or their own views are not nice and they just don’t see it…. bluesky

You know, I always marvel at how mean people can be. They go out of their way to find something wrong when there is NOTHING WRONG.

This sort of nit picking abuse is a common form of Verbal Abuse. The constant nit picking and criticizing will wear away at the psychological well being of the victim until the perpetrator can cross a psychic boundary and start deeper violations. Although family is family and we try our best I honestly beleive that anyone who violates the psychic boundary of another is a disease and we should wash our hands of them before we too become infected.

Already you can see the infection; this posting is a symptom of the inflammation resulting from the insult. In time it will die down BUT the perpetrator has made a scratch and they will know that the wound exists. The more you expose yourself to this predator the more work they will do on you. Do the right thing. Protect yourself.

The problem is is that the heart just REALLY want to just love them. Tell the heart that there are many many many objects worthy of the love of the hear and it is better to cultivate a garden that has soil and potential than to try to grow water melons in a desert. Black

When i hear something i do not agree with i just blow it off and enjoy my day because i do not let things especially trivial things to upset my day . They just want attention and that is the best way they know how to get it but if you ignore it then they eventually lose track of what they are saying and change the subject anyway. americanwoman46
