I do, all the time. I try to be modest, but that's more for my comfort than theirs.

I don't think I'd be comfortable breastfeeding in front of my inlaws. I could do it if I had a cover, though. One of my biggest fears is my brothers-in-law getting a peak and ewww.... they're creepy boys. Yuck.

I live closer to my in-laws than my mom (who is 2,000 miles away) but I plan on stepping out of the room at my in-laws to breast feed (I'm 7 months prego).
That's just a part of me that I do not want to share with them!

I do all the time! She has no problem with it. I even do it inf front of my sister and brother in laws and their kids. I am not shy and if they have a problem with it then I won't go to their house, simple as that. This is my baby's food and if they don't like it then to bad. I do sometimes feed on my mother in laws bed but that's just when I want to lay down and nurse. She's awesome about it and has no problems what so ever.

I go into another room, or the car, or cover up. It's a beautiful thing, but it makes others (maybe besides your husband and the kids other siblings, if any-) very uncomfortable, even if they don't say anything. The farther from family you get, the more uncomfortable people get. It's just a weird thing in society, I guess, but I was always modest. In front of My MOL? Never.

my mom and mother-in-law were at the birth.... she's seen everything else.....

however I do nurse infront of all my family and my inlaws as well....
[brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles] and I sometimes go to a quieter less busy room to nurse if we are at a family gathering but people are free to come in and chat..

but in normal visits, yeah I nurse in front of anyone.... I usually wear baggy shirts so noone can see anything... but personally I don't care...baby has got to eat and mommy does not want to be locked up and secluded because of someone elses discomfort

If you decide to breast feed in front of the in laws cover up with a baby blanket. Throw the blanket over your shoulder and place the baby under it before you pull up your shirt/bra and breast feed. The only other decent way to breast feed is to excuse yourself and breast feed in your bedroom/bathroom and leave the in laws alone. They might snoop if left alone. The third option is to pump and bottle feed in front of the in laws. The child is still getting breast milk, but may refuse the bottle if he/she has never had one before.

Why wouldn't you? If you choose to breastfeed and your baby need to eat if you don't feel comfortable go in the other room.
